A red panda lies along a thick mossy branch with its chin on its paws. Its striped tail curls down off the end. Behind it is a soft, misty blue-green forest. The shapes are big and simple, so it's a good first painting. Your paint stays inside the lines, so the orange fur won't spill onto the moss.

How to paint it

  1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Make the brush big and paint the misty background pale blue-green. Paint the far trees blue-grey.
  2. Paint the tree trunks and branch light brown. Add the shade under the branch with Darker.
  3. Paint the moss light green and the leaves green. Add the shade on the leaves with Darker.
  4. Paint the red panda orange-brown, its legs dark brown and the tail rings cream. Tap Texture twice and choose Fur. With Darker, add short strokes the way the fur grows.
  5. Go back to your brush. Paint the face marks and ear edges cream. Add the eyes and nose with the Pencil and the darkest colour.
