A small hedgehog sniffs two shiny red apples on a sunny stone path. Orange and gold autumn leaves lie around them. Behind are grass, white daisies and a low stone wall under a blue sky. The shapes are big and clear, so it's easy for a relaxed session. Your paint stays inside the lines, so the spines won't run onto the stones.

How to paint it

  1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Make the brush big and paint the sky blue. Paint the trees and grass green, and the tree trunk brown.
  2. Paint the stone wall and path light grey. Tap Texture twice and choose Stone. Dab over the stones with Darker.
  3. Go back to your brush. Paint the apples red, then add their shade with Darker. Paint the fallen leaves gold and orange, with some green.
  4. Paint the hedgehog's face and belly cream, and its spines light brown. Tap Texture twice and choose Fur. With Darker, add short strokes the way the spines grow.
  5. Add the eye and nose with the Pencil and the darkest colour. Dab the daisies and a shine on each apple with Gouache in cream.
