A butterfly spreads its wings above a stem of pale yellow flowers. The wings go from gold in the middle to orange, pink and purple at the edges. The background is plain paper. Each wing is split into big, rounded parts, so it's a good first painting. Your paint stays inside the lines, so each wing part keeps its own colour.
How to paint it
- Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Leave the background as plain paper. Make the brush big and paint the middle wing parts gold.
- Paint the next wing parts coral. Paint the outer edges of the wings purple.
- Paint the body gold, then add its shade with Darker. Paint the flowers pale yellow.
- Paint the leaves and stems green and the bud pale yellow. Add a little shade on each leaf with Darker.
- Add the antennae and eyes with the Pencil and the darkest colour. Dot the flower centres gold with the Pencil.
