Mesa Sunrise

The sun rises over a desert canyon, lighting up tall red rocks with flat tops. A slow river winds through, lined with green trees. In front, a prickly pear cactus grows among warm orange rocks. Pick this one when you want a longer painting full of detail. On this one, paint isn't kept inside the lines, so go slowly near the edges.

How to paint it

1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Zoom in and use a small brush near the edges. Make the brush big and paint the low sky pale gold, then soft blue above.
2. Paint the mesas and canyon walls orange-red, and the farthest ones soft violet. Add their shady sides with Darker. If paint goes over a line, tap Undo.
3. Tap Texture twice and choose Clouds. Dab the clouds soft pink and pale orange.
4. Go back to your brush. Paint the sunny part of the river pale gold, then the rest blue. Paint the near rocks orange, then add their shade with Darker.
5. Paint the cactus green, then add its shade with Darker. Add the tree trunks with the Pencil and the darkest colour.
6. Tap Texture twice and choose Foliage. Dab the trees and bushes green, and the pale bushes grey-green.
