Watertown Morning

Morning mist lifts off a calm harbour by a small village. White houses, a church and small sailing boats line the still water. Big round rocks and pink wild roses fill the front. Try it when you want a longer painting with lots of detail. Your paint isn't kept inside the lines here, so take it slowly near the edges.

How to paint it

1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Zoom in and use a small brush near the edges. If paint goes over a line, tap Undo.
2. Make the brush big and paint the sky pale cream. Add soft blue at the top. Paint the misty hills grey-green.
3. Paint the water pale blue-grey. Tap Texture twice and choose Water. Brush ripples over the water with Darker.
4. Go back to your brush. Paint the houses, church and boats cream, and their roofs grey. Paint the trees green, with Darker on their shaded sides.
5. Paint the jetty light brown and the rocks light beige. Tap Texture twice and choose Stone. Dab over the rocks with Darker.
6. Go back to your brush. Paint the rose leaves green and the roses pink. Add the masts, posts and windows with the Pencil.
