Rainy Tokyo Alley

Red paper lanterns glow over wooden shops in a narrow Tokyo alley at night. The wet street shines with warm light. You can also spot blue flowers, a bicycle and Tokyo Tower far behind. It's for when you want a longer painting with lots of detail. Here your paint isn't kept inside the lines, so take it slowly near the edges.

How to paint it

1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Zoom in and use a small brush near the edges. Paint the lanterns red and the lit windows pale gold.
2. Make the brush big and paint the wet street dark blue. Brush orange and gold streaks where the lights shine in it. If paint goes over a line, tap Undo.
3. Paint the night sky dark blue and the far city grey-blue, with the tower orange. Paint the shop fronts brown and the curtains red. Add their shade with Darker.
4. Paint the pots grey and the stool light brown. Draw the poles, lamp posts, bicycle and people with the Pencil and the darkest colour.
5. Paint the big leaves green and add their shade with Darker. Paint the hydrangea flowers blue.
6. Paint the vines green and the cherry tree pink. Tap Texture twice and choose Foliage. Dab leaves over them.
