Pink and orange tulips stand in a blue jug with yellow stripes. Long green leaves curve out between the stems. The jug sits on a brown table by a light blue curtain. The shapes are big and simple, so it's a good first painting. Your paint stays inside the lines, so the petals won't spill onto the leaves.

How to paint it

  1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Make the brush big and paint the wall cream. Paint the curtain light blue, with Darker in its folds.
  2. Paint the table light brown, then add its shade with Darker near the jug.
  3. Paint the jug blue and its stripes yellow. Add the shade on its right side with Darker.
  4. Paint two tulips pink and three orange. Add the shade between the petals with Darker.
  5. Paint the stems and leaves green, with Darker down one side. Dab a little white shine on the jug with Gouache.
