Sunlit Reading Corner

A green armchair with a pink cushion sits in a sunny reading corner. A small round table holds an open book and a mug. Through the window you can see green hills and white clouds. It's a good next step once you've painted a few. Your paint stays inside the lines, so the green chair won't spill onto the floor.

How to paint it

1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Paint the sky in the window light blue. Paint the far hills grey-blue and the trees green.
2. Make the brush big and paint the wall and curtain cream. Add the shade in the corner and the curtain folds with Darker.
3. Paint the floor honey brown and the rug cream. Add the shadow stripes on the floor with Darker.
4. Paint the armchair sage green. Add the shade under the arms and seat with Darker. Paint the cushion peach and the throw cream.
5. Paint the table and chair legs honey brown. Paint the mug and plant pot orange-brown. Paint the plant leaves green, with Darker on the shaded ones.
6. Draw the peach stripes on the throw and the book lines with the Pencil. Dab white on the clouds and book pages with Gouache.
