Lake Under Stars

The Milky Way sweeps across a dark night sky full of stars. Below, a still lake holds the starlight and two small islands of pine trees. Tall dark trees and big round rocks line the shore. It's for when you want a longer painting with lots of detail. Here your paint isn't kept inside the lines, so take it slowly near the edges.

How to paint it

1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Zoom in and use a small brush near the edges. If paint goes over a line, tap Undo.
2. Make the brush big and paint the Milky Way and the low sky pale orange. Paint the rest of the sky dark blue.
3. Tap Texture twice and choose Clouds. Dab soft grey-violet along the edges of the Milky Way.
4. Go back to your brush. Paint the far hills dark blue. Paint the shining part of the lake pale orange, then the rest deep blue.
5. Paint the rocks light grey, then add the shade on their lower sides with Darker. Tap Texture twice and choose Foliage. Dab the pines and island trees dark green.
6. Add the tree trunks with the Pencil and the darkest colour. Dab small cream stars and sparkles on the lake with Gouache.
