Fox’s Little Bookshop

A smiling fox in a blue-green waistcoat reads a big book in a cosy bookshop. Shelves of red, blue and green books line the wall. A round window looks out on summer trees. Try this one once you've painted a few easier pictures. Your paint stays inside the lines, so colours won't run between the books.

How to paint it

1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Make the brush big and paint the wall cream. Paint the sky in the window soft blue and the trees green.
2. Paint the shelves, beams, window frame and desk light brown. Add their shade with Darker.
3. Paint the books red, blue and green. Add a shaded side to each with Darker. Paint the pages of the open book cream.
4. Paint the plants green and their pots orange-brown. Paint the waistcoat blue-green, then add its folds with Darker.
5. Paint the fox orange, with cream on its chest, cheeks and tail tip. Tap Texture twice and choose Fur. With Darker, add short strokes the way the fur grows.
6. Go back to your brush. Paint the paws dark brown. Add the eyes, nose and gold buttons with the Pencil.
