Dog and a Ball

A brown and white dog sits on a round green rug. It's a spaniel, with long, wavy ears. A blue and yellow ball and a white bone lie beside it. The shapes are big and clear, so it's a good first painting. Your paint stays inside the lines, so the brown ears won't spill onto the white chest.

How to paint it

1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Make the brush big and paint the wall cream. Paint the floor light brown.
2. Paint the rug's rings green and cream, and the pot orange-brown. Paint the ball's stripes blue and gold, and the bone cream.
3. Paint the plant leaves green, then add their shade with Darker.
4. Paint the dog's white parts cream, then its patches and ears brown. Tap Texture twice and choose Fur. With Darker, add short strokes the way the fur grows.
5. Add the eyes, nose and mouth with the Pencil and the darkest colour. Dab a white shine on the eyes and the ball with Gouache.
