A hummingbird with blue-green wings hovers beside a big orange flower. Its body is made of copper plates and little gold gears. Big green leaves fill the corner, and tall glass windows rise behind. It's a good next step once you've painted a few. Your paint stays inside the lines, so the orange flower won't spill onto the leaves.

How to paint it

  1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Make the brush big and paint the glass windows pale blue. Paint the window frames blue.
  2. Paint the plants behind the glass soft green. Paint the flower orange, then add its deeper shade with Darker. Paint the flower's centre gold.
  3. Paint the big leaves green, then add their shade with Darker. Paint the bird's body copper and its gears gold.
  4. Paint the head, wings and tail blue-green. Add the shade near the body with Darker.
  5. Add the eye, beak and gear teeth with the Pencil and the darkest colour. Dab cream shine on the wings with Gouache.
