A light brown ukulele leans on an orange cushion in a dark blue armchair. Sunlight casts leaf shadows on the cream wall behind. A plant sits on a small table in the corner. The shapes are big and simple, so it's a good first painting. Your paint stays inside the lines, so the wood colour won't spill onto the cushion.

How to paint it

  1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Make the brush big and paint the wall cream. Add the leaf shadows with Darker.
  2. Paint the small table light brown and the plant green. Paint the pot cream and its pattern blue.
  3. Paint the armchair blue, then add the shade in its folds with Darker. Paint the cushion orange, with Darker on its shaded side.
  4. Paint the ukulele golden brown. Add the shade around its edges with Darker. Paint the fretboard, bridge and sound hole dark brown.
  5. Draw the strings with the Pencil in grey. Dab cream on the tuning pegs with Gouache.
