Autumn Road

A winding road curves under orange and red autumn trees. Fallen leaves pile up on both sides, next to a low stone wall. Beyond the trees, a blue lake sits below the mountains. This one suits a longer painting with lots of detail. Your paint isn't kept inside the lines, so take it slowly around the edges.

How to paint it

1. Choose Watercolour for a soft look or Oil for a bolder one. Make the brush big and paint the sky light blue around the clouds. Zoom in and use a small brush near the edges.
2. Tap Texture twice and choose Clouds. Dab the clouds softly with the palest cream. If paint goes over a line, tap Undo.
3. Go back to your brush. Paint the lake blue and the far mountains soft blue-grey. Paint the far hills orange and dark green.
4. Paint the road light grey, then add the tree shadows with Darker. Paint the stone wall and rocks pale grey, with Darker underneath.
5. Paint the tree trunks grey-brown. Tap Texture twice and choose Foliage. Dab the leaves orange, red and gold, and the pines dark green.
6. Draw the two yellow lines on the road with the Pencil. Dab bright orange leaves along both edges with Gouache.
